5 Bucks a Day

In 5 Bucks a Day, I gave an example of a campaign I had In November-December 2005, which was the start of my success string putting together 5 buck a day projects.

The “trouble” was, what started out as a project where I wanted to make the prerequisite 5 dollars a day, turned into so much more, in fact it turned into $38,000 profit in 8 weeks.

I’ve always believed that being in the right place at the right time is often a formula for success. Some call it luck. Some call it being prepared for an opportunity. Whatever.

When I wrote about this campaign in the book, and gave a specific example, I totally expected copycats to milk that particular method and niche until it was no longer profitable. And I was right about one thing, there were a lot of copycats.

However, many of my readers have sent me emails telling me that they too made good money with the same basic technique, and in the same basic niche.

Recently, I heard from one of my readers that not only bucked all odds, but he lived to write about it in much greater detail than I ever could have done myself.

Not only did he decide to copy my niche and my technique in an already oversaturated market, but he decided to do it at the tail end of the hot season, specifically he was trying to sell holiday items in mid-December, long after most customers had found what they were looking for.

What he was trying to do was prove whether or not the ideas in 5 Bucks a Day would work, against all odds.

Amazingly, in attempting to earn 5 bucks a day, he was able to earn over $700 profit, in 7 days. Again, against the odds.
