Inside 5 Bucks a Day I talk about the strategy that evolved over the period of several months after I had my life changing “ah ha” moment.
One of the key things I talk about in the book is focus, and why it’s important.
I can’t summarize an entire book in a short blog post, but think about what the value of your time is. It may be more than you realize. Much more.
For example, when I’m focused on a 5 Bucks A Day project, I’m doing something that will earn me $5 per day for either forever, or at least for years.
If I decide to sluff off this week, is that such a big deal? It’s only $5 for goodness sakes.
Yes, it’s a big deal. $5 a day is $1,825.00 a year. So if I prefer surfing forums, reading the news and sports, chatting by email or private messaging, checking stats, taking an extra half hour for lunch, watching TV, getting up late and going to bed early, if all that stops me from getting my project done, it’s costing me $1,825 this year.
Or more, because a lot of my completed projects earn more than $5 per day. There was a project I almost didn’t do last July that has been earning me well over $100 per day since then. If I would have said to myself that I wanted to check out the sports scores instead, that would have cost me over $50,000, and counting.
Something to think about, isn’t it?
To succeed is simple:
Figure out the most profitable use of your time today. Then, focus on doing that. Then, repeat the process tomorrow.
