5 Bucks a Day

I got a small check in the mail today. Not enough to retire, but still, considering the work involved, nice.

I signed up at Kunaki a while ago. They offer a way that you can self publish your own CD’s or DVD’s. To make a long story short, you burn what you want to distribute to a disk on your computer. You design a cover (very easy to do if you want to use their cover maker). You upload the burned CD to their system. You set a price. And you’re instantly in business.

Kunaki gives you a link to your own sales page that you can send customers to, for example, here’s my sales page for 5 Bucks a Day subliminal audios.

Kunaki’s service includes producing the CD or DVD, putting it in a jewel case or DVD case, printing the cover and insert, shrink wrapping, taking orders, processing the customer credit cards, and shipping out the orders. Plus taking care of accounting for your sales and sending you a check monthly. Plus probably a couple things I’m forgetting.

For that, they charge $1.60 per CD. That’s it. They charge the customer a very reasonable handling charge of $3.00 plus actual postage to the destination anywhere in the world.

You can set whatever price you want for your product, Kunaki gives you the full price after they deduct their $1.60.

You can’t beat that deal, in my opinion. Oh, and as a publisher you can get a free preview copy of your product, Kunaki even pays the shipping to you.

Of course you can order your own CD’s if you want to maintain an in-house inventory, you pay the publisher rate of $1.60 each plus actual shipping charges, plus a flat handling charge of $3.00.

You can’t beat this deal. If you want to self publish in physical format, rather than a downloadable eBook, you can generally get a higher price for the perceived value. Kunaki could be your answer, rather than an in house production staff.
