I constantly preach, and I wrote the book, about how to slowly build up a nice ongoing income by starting small and slow, in other words every week adding $5/day to your income.
Yes, it seems slow, but it’s deadly effective. At the end of 4 weeks, you’re earning $20 a day, at the end of 6 months you’re earning $130 a day, and it just keeps on getting better.
If you do it right, but that’s another story.
Many people are lazy. Many people are impatient. Many people want to get rich quick. Many people want to take shortcuts.
Most of the people in the above groups fail, but thankfully not all of them.
I’ll be writing another book in the near future, once I can get myself motivated and focused on the project, and it will be more about the different ways to earn money. Though there have been many hundreds of eBooks about the various subjects, I don’t know of any that will cover the subjects the way I plan to.
Not that I’m the expert on everything, but I do believe I’ve listened well to my readers and forum members, and I do have a handle on the typical income strategies.
In the 5 Bucks a Day sales letter I mention that it’s a strategy to maximize one’s existing marketing skills, whether someone has online marketing skills or offline, it doesn’t matter much, since it’s a mental approach that makes you develop habits that will make you successful if you let them, and if you have existing skills.
If and when I write the new book, I want to answer some different questions like “how do I start”, “what if I have no money to invest”, “where do I learn this, that, or the other skill”?
For example, if someone were just starting, with absolutely no Internet Marketing experience at all, I’d probably answer “where do I start” like I answered my adult son when he asked me that question.
I told him to start with a blog. I told him to find a topic he was reasonably familiar with, that he wouldn’t mind researching, that he could write a few paragraphs a day of interesting content without getting bored after a week.
I told him to keep writing every day or at worst every two days for at least a month.
Then I told him once he did that, to apply for an AdSense account and add ads to his blog.
And then I told him once he did all that, to come back in a couple months time and we’d figure out what to do next.
What next would depend on the person’s interest and aptitude, and writing interesting content on a particular subject, if done well in a blog, could be done well in articles, short reports, and other places.
As I’ve said before, I believe the most important skill an Internet Marketer can have is the ability to write well. That’s a skill that can be learned by practicing, and there are many great reports that can help you develop that skill.
If you’re just getting started, that might be a strategy for you also. Some call it blogging for dollars. Some bloggers do make a lot of dollars, but more importantly it can be a way to improve your writing skills without worrying about being judged.
You see, you never know if your blog is being read. It’s like the proverbial tree falling in the middle of the forest with no one around. Does it make a sound? Does your blog make an impact on someone? Does it matter? You be the judge.
