Long ago, when I worked for clients, I usually had a long commute from northern New Jersey, usually to either New York City (not far, but long in terms of time), to Connecticut, or to south Jersey.
After a while, hearing the same old chatter on the radio got pretty boring to me, and I became interested in self developmental cassette tapes (I guess that dates me a bit). If you’ve followed the field, you’ve heard of Nightingale-Conant, they were a leader then, and I guess still are, and I owned most of their tape programs.
If it took me 90 minutes to get to work, no problem, I just popped a tape into my “university on wheels” and fed my mind with good solid information. Same thing on the way home.
I think I paid $50 or $60 for each set of tapes, and 25 years ago $60 was worth a lot more than today, so my investment of several thousand dollars was substantial. I felt it was worth it then, and I’m sure what I learned then had an effect on my future success.
Now that I work in my hometown, my commute is about 3 minutes when traffic is heavy, so I don’t have that opportunity, and I have to admit I miss the solitude and ability to listen to those tapes (which I guess would probably come on CD’s now).
I know a lot of you are in a different situation, though, and like to listen to mp3’s or CD’s while you commute, while you jog, while you’re at the health club, wherever, and if so, this new site is for you.

I’ve always said that there’s no better investment than investing in yourself. Many have spent 10’s of thousands of dollars to get a college degree, even 100 thousand or more. Keeping your mind filled with new, exciting, positive ideas, keeps your skills new, exciting, and positive.
