5 Bucks a Day

… an Internet Marketing strategy that works!

Internet Marketing ideas: Can changing your surroundings change your attitude?

I’ve been in my current spot for 5 years.  Actually 10 years if you count the other 5 that I was just next door in the same physical building.

The first 5 years were full time retail and part time Internet marketing.  But considering that I wasn’t making any money with IM, that doesn’t count.

After my last move, I downgraded the retail to part time, and concentrated on my warehouse operation, and was still trying to make Internet marketing work.

At the point where the 5 Bucks a Day strategy kicked in, I decided I couldn’t afford to waste my time with the retail operation, and at that point became a full time Internet marketer.

Unfortunately I still had 2+ years to go on my lease, so I was actually using a retail storefront for a huge office.  What a waste of money.

This weekend I should be pretty much moved into a small office nearby.  Just right for one person, maybe two if necessary.  I was up there trying to figure out where to put everything today while waiting for the cable internet access to be installed.

One thing that I need to happen is to start fresh with a clean uncluttered desk, and keep it that way.  Whenever I start losing focus, it seems to correspond with the time when my desk is the messiest.  I have to reverse that habit.

Right now what was on top of my desk is now in a box, ready to move tomorrow or the next day.  My goal is to go through that box, and categorize everything into different folders.  Business ideas will be sorted down, new ideas will be added to my project list, the stuff that’s just waiting to be read will either be read or tossed out.  Some stuff has been waiting to be read for years, I suspect, so it must not be that important.

My new office, small as it is, has 3 windows.  I also purchased dry erase wall covering, emulating John Reese.  Figuring out my battle plan for the next several projects is going to be a blast.

And the fact that I’ll be saving approximately $2400 a month in rent and utilities will help me immeasurably.   I could, and should, take that money and use it to outsource the completion of the projects that I come up with.

What do you think?  As the summer ends, with the cold and snow not far away, I’m getting really excited about this new change of scenery.  Right now I’m exhausted from what I’ve been doing to get moved, but 10 days from now, that will be history, and the future has never been brighter.
