Internet marketing is becoming more and more of a challenge every day.
Recently there have been reports of major player’s PayPal accounts being locked, some with considerable funds frozen, and the owners can’t get at his or her money. Reasons vary.
There have been reports of Google AdSense accounts being terminated for reasons that were subjective.
There have been reports of affiliate accounts terminated due to alleged violations of terms of service, or due to merchants just running out of money before paying for what they contracted to pay.
There are the so called Google Slaps, where AdWords advertisers find their ads slapped with high minimum bids to activate previously profitable keywords.
There have been reports of web hosts shutting down domains for various reasons, and domain registrars holding domain names hostage.
In all these cases, it’s usually a case of guilty until proven innocent, and even then it’s often impossible to appeal.
What’s an Internet marketer to do, dodging the mine fields of all these hazards?
The only advice that’s worth giving is to be fully aware of the terms of service of all the different providers of services that you’re subscribing to. Don’t assume that you’ll get away with going above and beyond the letter of the TOS, and don’t assume that if someone else is doing it, you can.
If others can spam and survive, don’t assume your web host will allow it.
If others can use black hat techniques and make a bundle of money on Craigslist or with AdSense, don’t assume you can.
If others can promote multi level marketing schemes and accept payments with PayPal, don’t assume you can get away with it.
Don’t assume that just because you’re making money hand over fist because you have first page positions in the search engines that you’re entitled to those positions forever.
Don’t assume that even if you’re doing everything by the books, that you’ll still escape scrutiny if you’re utilizing resources that you don’t own.
Also don’t assume that if you do get slapped by any of your service providers, you can plead ignorance of the law, throw yourself on the mercy of the court, say you’ll never do it again, and get reinstated.
In this business, make sure you don’t build your business on a bed of sand. The tide will go out, the tide will come in. Things will change. Make sure you’re diversified. To carry on the analogy, if you have a house build on sand, make sure you have a 2nd home away from shore on a firmer foundation.
There may be little competition on the beach. Good for you. Take advantage of it. But remember there may be little competition for a reason.
Having more than one income stream is essential. Having a dozen is recommended. Work towards that goal. What dozen? You decide, there are certainly plenty of options out there using Internet marketing tactics.
What would happen if you lost one income stream if you have a dozen? You’d probably be annoyed, and you’d survive. What would happen if you lost one income stream, and you only had one? I’ll leave that to you to answer.
At Earn1KaDay.com and Instant Cash Generators, we attempt to provide many different ideas for you to work with. Yes, I teach focus, so I don’t advise you to try a dozen things at once. But I do advise that you build different income streams, one at a time, and this time next year you’ll have a solid foundation that allows you to sleep at night.
