5 Bucks a Day

I am thrilled to be able to announce that I’ve purchased one of the premiere Internet marketing membership sites on the ‘net, Instant Cash Generators.

Originally conceived by JD Swanson, a young man in Australia that I’m thrilled to have become friends with for the last several months, ICG was developed to be an outlet for JD’s penchant for instant cash ideas. At the outset, it was promised that there would be a new idea 7 days a week.

Considering the other projects that JD became involved in, that pace of activity proved to be difficult to maintain, and since he has always been fond of flipping websites to others, this transaction was a natural. I’m thrilled that I was in the right place at the right time to snag this gem.

I can say the above confidently because ICG changed my life. When I wrote “5 Bucks a Day“, I wouldn’t say I was a rookie in Internet marketing, but I would say I was unprepared for success as an Information marketer. Sure, I had done well with AdWords campaigns, but it was my first e-Book, and I was thrilled that so many people said so many good things about my writing.

So to repay their kindness, I started a forum where readers could interact with myself and other readers. Most of the forum is only open to those who’ve purchased the book.

As that grew, I knew I wanted to take it to the next level, but I didn’t know how. Since I was giving free access for life to those who paid a small price for a book, it was a dilemma that gave me some sleepless nights. I knew I couldn’t start charging membership fees when I promised free access, but I also knew I could do so much more if I had some financial resources to draw from.

Then I found Instant Cash Generators. JD was a fan of membership sites, and talked about how to set them up, even pointing to a piece of software that made it dead simple. It started me thinking, but still there was a turning point about to happen.

I was giving away my methods and my software and creating competition for myself, but now I was helping some people truly be successful where they had failed before.

in addition, I took action, which is the most important thing to remember. Ideas without action are worthless.

Willingness to take action without good ideas is better, but still virtually worthless.

Better yet, good ideas coupled with action, will make you successful.

And best of all, good ideas, made unique by thinking outside the box, plus massive action, will change your life.

You’ll get rich with Internet marketing if you take massive action to produce products.  If you don’t read anything else that I ever write, read that statement again, commit it to memory, then commit to it, and you’ll be successful.

A product could be an article that you write to have published in article directories.

A product could be a report that you give away in order to get people to sign up for your email list.

A product could be an eBook that you write.

A product could be a web site that you set up.

A product could be a blog, even a blog post, even a post on a forum that links back to your own web site or blog.

A product could be a membership site.

A product could be an affiliate review page on one of your web sites.

A product could be a Squidoo lens.

A product could be a classified ad on eBay selling another product of yours or promoting a product of someone elses.

A product could be a video that you post on YouTube.

We could go on and on and on, but I think you’re starting to get the idea.

The more products you make, the more money you’ll make.

Not every product will make you money, some will lose you money, but once you’ve made enough products you’ll have a feel about how to make winners rather than losers, and you’ll make more winners.

Some products will make you an absolute fortune, those are the ones you’ll tell your friends about and they won’t believe you.

Some products will make you a dollar a day, those are the ones that you should be seeking out just as vigorously because enough of them will make you very comfortable.

Some smaller products (like an article) will only make you a few cents a day, others will make you a lot of money in a short period of time, and then die off quickly. Don’t turn down either one.

When attempting to determine the next product to produce, seek either instant cash or long term cash. Both are good. Instant cash buys you the toys you need, long term cash pays the mortgage, the car payment, and funds your retirement account.

Every day that you don’t work towards producing another product is a day that you’ve wasted, you’ll never get it back.

Products don’t have to be perfect in order to make you money, but products have to be available. Waiting for the next product to be perfect before making it available is the single biggest mistake an Internet marketer can make, and I’m afraid the vast majority fall into this trap.

The typical Internet marketer doesn’t want to be embarrassed by imperfection. I’d prefer that embarrassment rather than being embarrassed that I can’t pay the mortgage.

Example: Is this blog post the best example of my writing ability? No. Will this blog post make me any money? I don’t know, I don’t care. I’m going to be quoting from a really spectacular interview today, and probably several times in the future. You’ll be getting information here that isn’t available to the general public, and I hope you take advantage of it. First as a preface to this first quote. If you haven’t heard of JD Swanson, to make a long story short, he’s an Internet marketing genius. I’d recommend you join, what you’ll learn from this interview will more than make up for a year’s worth of membership fees, most likely.

Today’s quote that I want to share with you was in answer to a question about coming trends. Here’s what JD had to say:

If you sell a product for $10, give $100 value. Simple. Overdeliver. No matter what you do, just over deliver and you will always have happy customers and more then you can handle. Trends come and go, good business models last forever.

If you use that advice as your business model, you can’t fail. For example, one of our other members at Earn1KaDay.com published a report telling how he got started to his success. He took writing jobs, overdelivered, got great testimonials, loyal customers, and now he’s no longer able to take on new customers, even though he’s raised his writing rates 400%. All in the matter of just a few months. Unreal.

Do what you’re paid for and you’ll get paid. Do more than you’re paid for, and you’ll eventually (soon) get what you earned, and probably double that, in return.

When I was young, I wanted to be a big league ball player. Or a cowboy. Or a famous author. Lots of stuff.

I never in my wildest dreams dreamed of being an Internet marketer. Actually back then there was no Internet. Actually back then only the government even had computers. That dates me, doesn’t it?

Even today, when people on the street ask me what I do, it’s hard to come out and say “I’m an Internet marketer”. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, in fact today I had a revelation.

The revelation came from a post one of my forum friends made on the Earn1KaDay.com forum. I don’t mind dropping names from time to time, my friend is JD Swanson, one of the brightest young stars on the IM scene, the person who invented 2 absolutely phenomenal membership sites that I visit all the time, Instant Cash Generators and Sell Your Writing Online.

There are days when JD is so productive with his thinking that I swear he’s Albert Einstein or Thomas Edison reincarnated, and today was one of those days. Watching him pop out ideas on the forum at Earn1Kaday.com is a treat.

For example, today he came up with one of the simplest, yet most powerful, motivators I’ve ever seen. According to JD, ain Internet marketer has two duties:

1. Get your product into as many hands as possible.

2. Inspire people to succeed.

I like to think I’m doing #2 pretty well, #1 I could do a better job. Why aren’t I? Am I ashamed of asking people for money to join my site? Maybe.

Should I be ashamed of what I do? Not on your life.

Example. One of our members is a teacher, so he’s been off work for the last couple months. It gave him an opportunity to really spend time trying to develop some products.

In the past, like so many, he tried to do everything by himself and waited until something was perfect before attempting to “get his product into as many hands as possible”.

Consequently, he had never really launched any products. This summer, through some pushing on the part of myself and some other forum members, he decided to go for it, and you know what he told me yesterday?

His Internet marketing income is now equalling his teaching income.

Isn’t that something? He sat down and decided “just do it” and not to wait for perfection, and guess what? It worked.

I’m no longer ashamed to admit I’m an Internet marketer. It doesn’t mean I spam people. It doesn’t mean I set up adult web sites. It doesn’t mean I scam people out of their hard earned money.

On the contrary, I’m proud of the fact that I inspire people like the fellow in the example above, and now that JD has made it so obvious, I’m going to try to do both #1 and #2 in the list above, every chance I get.
